Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War
G.A.R. Monument Dedication
The public is invited to a media event as Indian Nations Camp #3 SUVCW and Rachel Cormany Auxiliary dedicate a new G.A.R. Monument at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, 2008 at 10:00am. This 10' tall concrete obelisk will commemorate the contributions and sacrifices of Union Soldiers, who later founded Camps of the Grand Army of the Republic in Oklahoma. The monument is made possible through generous donations of many individuals, organizations and area corporations, and the efforts of members of Indian Nations Camp #3.
The cemetery is located at 4161 East Admiral Place, on the northwest corner of Admiral Place and Yale Avenue.
Take the Yale exit from I-244 / Hwy 412, go 1/2 block north to Admiral Place, and turn left. The entrance to the cemetery will be 1/4 mile on the right.
The monument is located in the Veteran's section, at the northeastern corner of the cemetery.
