Jonathan Eden was born 2 Feb 1843 in Barry Co., Missouri. His parents are believed to be Elias Eden and Edy/Eda Blythe, but are unconfirmed at this time. Jonathan is found on the 1850 census Barry Co MO District 5, pg 199A, in the household of Eliot and Eady Stockton (enumerated as Stogden), shown as 10 years old, born in Missouri.

 

Jonathan married 27 Feb 1862 to Martilda Stockton, daughter of Thomas Stockton and Elizabeth Martindale. Jonathan and Martilda  became the parents of ten children.

On the 3 Aug 1862 he enlisted as a Private in 1st Arkansas Cavalry and was mustered out 20 Aug 1865. Jonathan received a Pension for his service. He also served in in Company D of the Missouri Stone Prairie Home Guard. Jonathan died 5 May 1917. He and Martilda are buried at Potter Cemetery in Barry County, Missouri.

John Yost Johnson was born 22 Feb 1838 in Coles County, Illinois (or in Ohio per 1850 census of Coles County, page 30, East Oakland Township). His marriage to Jane Catherine Mock on 26 January 1860 is recorded on page 200 of Book B, the Marriage Records of Coles county, Illinois. John enrolled 6 Sep 1861 at Kansas, Edgar County, Illinois, in Company K, 34th Regiment, Illinois Volunteers. By time of his death on 10 April 1863 from pneumonia at regimental hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he had been promoted to Corporal. John is buried at Stones River National Cemetery in Murfreesboro.

John Harrison Lockard enlisted in Company C, 40th Iowa Inf on 14 Aug 1862 and was discharged 2 Aug 1865, at Fort Gibson, Indian Territory. A unit history can be found here .

He was born 23 Nov 1831 at Madison, Jefferson, Indiana and married 1 February 1855 at Mahaska County, Iowa to Amanda McMains, a daughter of Abraham McMains and his second wife, Mary Stingfellow. Amanda was born 6 October, 1839 in Montgomery County, Indiana, and died 14 November 14, 1926. John died 2 Jul 1923 at Pawnee County, Nebraska.

They are both found on the 1910 Federal Census in Pawnee County, Nebraska. John and Amanda are buried at Pawnee City Cemetery in Pawnee Nebraska.

James C. Stockton, son of Thomas Stockton and Elizabeth Martindale, was born in Illinois or Tennessee about 1833 and died 6 Jul 1893. He married 30 June 1850 in Barry County Missouri to Rebecca Martindale. The children of James and Rebecca were Margaret, Albertine, James William, Thomas J., Samuel C., Doctor, Obidiah and James.

James served in the Missouri Stone Prairie Home Guards  from 6 June 1861-15 November 1861. The burial places of James and Rebecca are not known.
